Abstract
In my research I investigated how the Muslims students in University of Illinois have adapted living in America and see what role religion played in it. This could range from culture shock to prejudices, especially after 9/11. I did specify gender because I felt there wpi;d be quite a range of answers that would be quite different just because of the gender and how they were treated and how they found themselves. Because the group I focused on was quite wide, I asked specific questions such as the issues of praying in school to get a clear overview of each issue. Through this I saw what are problems Muslims had living the US from deep existential problems such as keeping their cultural and religious identity to the more mundane problems of eating and praying. By this I looked at how background and experiences results in either more liberal or orthodox view on religion.
