Abstract
My research project investigates Korean international students’ socializing pattern. There are two research questions: Is there a specific socializing pattern exist among Korean international students at University of Illinois? What kind of factors effect on Korean international students’ socializing patterns? I conducted one interview with Korean international student and a few field observations at cafes on campus. I found that Korean international students have a tendency to socialize with people who are like them. An ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, a language use and special environmental characteristics of U of I are the factors that effect on Korean international students’ socializing.
The university offers an extraordinary opportunity to study and document student communities, life, and culture. This collection includes research on the activities, clubs, and durable social networks that comprise sometimes the greater portion of the university experience for students.
