Our group set out to answer the question, who was Jody Davenport? Little did we know that we would learn so much about Jody and connect with her research form. Through an interview with a former assistant coach and some archival research we were able to develop some other important questions to answer. We decided to focus on the connection between Davenport and Title IX. Title IX was created and applied right around the time that Jody was involved in coaching sports. She helped to influence the transformation of the golf club a the university to a division I team. Jody then became the head athletic director at Auburn University and helped to bring gender equality to their program. Davenport has since passed away, but the impact she made in the world of women's sport will live on forever.
