Abstract
This project investigates the impact of involvement in Asian-interest University organizations on Asian American women and their perceptions on beauty norms and sexual fetishes. To obtain data, personal structured interviews and participant observations with Asian American female students were conducted. The findings showed that both Asian American females who were involved versus uninvolved in Asian-interest organizations shared similar beauty ideals and norms and had experiences of feeling sexualized and fetishized. Those involved in organizations had tendencies to dress with sex appeal in groups more often, whereas those uninvolved dressed with sex appeal occasionally when going to parties or special events.
