Abstract
9Be , 1OB, 11B, 12c, 24Mg , 25Mg , 26Mg and 27Al targets have been
bombarded with the 3He beam from the University of Illinois cyclotron.
Elastic scattering angular distributions have been obtained in the approximate beam energy range of 13 to 27 MeV in steps of about 2 MeV and in the angular range SO to 1500 (lab.). The data were analyzed in
terms of a local optical potential and a sharp edge diffraction model and the results compared to other experiments. Each isotope is discussed and possible explanations for some of the experimental discrepancies with these models are given.
