Abstract
Taking the viewpoint of unsubtracted dispersion relations we derive
integral representations for the weak photon decay amplitudes Fl and F2.
The integrals involve the magnetic and electric dipole amplitudes M and
.1
Eo+ of the photopion production. They also involve the pion-nucleon
scattering phase shifts of the states Pll, P3l, Sll and S3l , The integrals
were carried out on a computer and the relative decay rate of Sigma+ -> py to
its total rate was found to be 0.71 x 10-3, which is comparable with the latest experimental value (1.9 ± 0.4) x 10^-3.
