Abstract
This is a report on a search for nu/mu arrow nu/e oscillations using the E776 detector at
Brookhaven National Laboratory. The detector consisted of a 226 metric ton electromagnetic
calorimeter followed by a toroidal muon spectrometer and was located
1 km from the target at the AGS. 1.43 x 1019 protons on target were collected in the
wide band beam with a peak neutrino energy of 1.1 GeV. No evidence for neutrino
oscillations was observed. The 90% confidence limits obtained are delta m2 less-than/equal-to 0.13 e V2
for large mixing angle, and sin2 2theta less-than/equal-to 7.7 x 10-3 in the limit of large delta m2.
