Abstract
The photocurrents in lightly colored KBr crystals were measured as
o function of electric and magnetic fields in the temperature range of 4.2 K to 78 K. The wavelength dependence o£ the photocurrent was determined in
the same range of temperature.
The symmetry of the conduction band at 4.2
o
K was determined from
observation of the transverse magnetoconductivity.
A new technique of observing cyclotron resonance through electron
heating in crystals having high impedance ,and low carrier density was
developed. The polaron mass in KBr was measured for the first time
using this technique. In addition the static dielectric constant for
KBr was determined from 4.2
K to room temperature.
