Abstract
This project focuses on freshmen in their second semester living in the dorms to gain a better understanding of the pathways in which freshmen get involved and engaged in the activities that the university puts forth. On the basis of interviews, the study finds that most freshmen are exposed to the idea of getting more involved through dormitory life. Resident Advisors, their training, and their ideas of involvement and community play an important role in this regard. The project includes a proposal for continued research.
The university offers an extraordinary opportunity to study and document student communities, life, and culture. This collection includes research on the activities, clubs, and durable social networks that comprise sometimes the greater portion of the university experience for students.
