Abstract
"Ace Plating Company is a small Chicago job shop that offers a variety of electoplating finishes including brass, nickel, and copper. Ace contacted ISTC after they were notified that they would need to begin paying an annual ""metals loading"" charge to the local POTW. Their goals were tor educe disposal costs and minimize environmental liability. In 1995, with ISTC's assistance, Ace management launched an aggressive effort to use environmentally responsible processes and practices in all of its business operations. This case study details a project to help Ace identify pollution prevention opportunities and implement full counter-current rinsing."
