Abstract
This project investigates pool “hustling” as practiced by ISU students and focuses on hustlers’ language, morals, and strategies. On the basis of two interviews and participant observation, the research shows that all kinds of students can be hustlers and play pool for money. Hustlers use different strategies, but they don’t consider it stealing, since the other person agrees to play pool for money. A good hustler can make as much money in one night as an average student makes at their job in a week.
