Abstract
A study was made of the afterglows of plasmas produced in pure helium gas at atomic densities ~lo18 - lo19/cc . Qualitative observations were made at a gas temperature of 4.20K while most quantitative results were obtained at a gas temperature of 77 o K at a pressure of 9.5 Torr in a region of free electron densities 10 8 - 10 11 Icc.
