This article provides a study of the various sectors of the economy of Jammu and Kashmir since the onset of insurgency in 1990. Such a study
in a milieu of economic uncertainty and government
policies in those settings is extremely important for
a better comprehension of how agents react under
these circumstances. The lessons learnt from such a
study have policy implications and are directly linked
to the possibilities of a peace dividend.
