Abstract
This report describes an experimental investigation of the load and energy-absorbing capacity of literally loaded reinforced concrete frames with and without filler walls. The experimental program included ten small-scale single-story single bay frames. The tests constitute one phase of study of the interaction of frames with filler walls in multi-story buildings. The results of the tests were studied to define the possible failure mechanisms and to develop methods to calculate safe lower bounds to the energy absorbing capacity of frames with filler walls.
