Abstract
The results of studies of the dynamic response of a simple structural
system with coupled translational and rotational degrees-of-freedom
subjected to ground motion containing both translational and rotational
components are presented. The investigation was carried out with a view
toward assessing current building code procedures and arriving at bounds
on the interrelationship between torsional and translational response.
