Abstract
I have investigated the stability of platinum black under the pulse plating method and Undervoltage deposition over time. The platinum black is deposited on gold substrate deposited on PCB. I observed both the Undervoltage and pulse plating have a positive influence on the platinum black. Platinum black was observed to maintain better terminal capacitance using Undervoltage deposition. Platinum black was also observed to have better stability using the pulse plating method than DC plating. I further show the characterization of the platinum black via scanning electron microscopy, SEM, energy disperse X-ray analysis, EDX, and the stability via, Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, EIS, plots over 2 months.
