Rhetoric 104 was the second semester of a two-semester course sequence designed primarily to help students improve as writers, readers, researchesr and critical thinkers. This entailed more than perfecting students’ grammar or developing good writing skills. Rather, this course aimed to encourage students to think analytically, to read critically and participate actively in the ongoing academic discourse presented in texts, images or discussions etc.
This section of Rhetoric 104 centered on a particular theme, Race and the University as a part of the Ethnography of the University Initiative (EUI).
This collection examines ways in which the U.S. university and the American college experience are affected by diversity, and difference. In particular, these student projects examine experiences of diversity on campus, including important contemporary social, cultural, and political debates on equity and access to university resources.
