Abstract
This study looks at the Cook County Land Bank Authority, an independent agency that acquires properties through foreclosures, court actions, and tax sales along with clearing those titles that removes any barriers that successfully shifts the property from one party to another. They locate buyers who intend to rehab, bring back tax rolls, and subsequently establish a thriving home to live in.
