Abstract
In this primer, we lay out a 5-step process for using Semantic Network Analysis to analyze during-learning process data such as think-alouds, written summaries or responses, discourse, or other during-learning verbal data. Table 1 summarizes the steps of our suggested process and we describe each step in detail. We provide examples from an application of this process to student knowledge data from a think aloud study regarding the human immune response.
