Abstract
In the modern university environment, where some people worry that our focus on innovation and technology comes at the expense of information and education, it is important that we encourage a love of learning by recognizing that the pursuit of information is a joyful endeavor. Drawing on the author's personal experiences with PLATO lessons at the University of Illinois, this paper reminds us that while innovation is exciting, information is full of joy. Library and information science researchers and practitioners have a unique opportunity to shape the future of innovation in education by emphasizing the joy of information in all our activities.
