- Abstract
- In a digital landscape fraught with vulnerabilities, the careful selection of vulnerability management solutions is vital. This paper explores the adoption and efficacy of Qualys in the ACCESS project, examining the multifaceted reasons for its choice, including pre-existing university use, cost-effectiveness, seamless integration with existing systems, and robust threat detection. Practical implementation is also investigated, including a tailored spreadsheet aiding the transition from XSEDE to ACCESS, resulting in an enhanced scanning process. Through comprehensive literature review and hands-on experimentation, the study showcases Qualys’s superior performance over alternatives and emphasizes its strategic benefits in managing cybersecurity threats. The findings affirm the significance of Qualys in bolstering the project’s cybersecurity posture, making this research a crucial guide for similar endeavors in vulnerability management.
