Abstract
Modern 5G communication systems require RF designers to come up with good delay circuit design that could perform nanoscale delay, good resolution, ultra-wide band at RF, good linearity, and reasonable circuit area. Inspired by switched capacitor delay circuits, a new switched LC delay circuit is proposed to shift the fundamental harmonic transfer function to the radio frequency of interest. In this thesis, a detailed derivation and simulation comparison of gain and input impedance of such circuits under the operating conditions of RF delay circuits is given. A proposed LTI model of such circuits is also provided to give more design intuition and ideas to engineers. Finally, one design suggestion and example are shown to give the designers a brief guideline when working on these circuits.
