Abstract
This document contains detailed description of and instructions on the construction and functions of a spherical Taylor-Couette apparatus with a small gap width with the potential for controlled thermal boundary conditions of fixed heat flux at the equator and fixed temperature at the poles. Included also, is a review of the relevant literature with the goal of directing the reader/user on future use of this apparatus for scientific investigations.
