Abstract
This research analyzes census data and economic reports to investigate how the modern free-market system relates to the certain aspects concerning land in the economic situation under Feudal Europe. This paper builds on scholarship that recognizes inequalities in American society
and how viewing the modern day through the lens of history helps explain the current situation. It also implies that the government has a role in maintaining systems of inequality in the United States.
