Abstract
Gene therapy development has been hampered over
the last decade due to manufacturing bottlenecks
that are the result of high startup costs and the
need for staff with specialized laboratory skills. In
response, contract development manufacturing
operations (CDMOs) are being established to help
bring new therapies to trial.
Using surveys and interviews, this study seeks to
assess the information needs of Forge Biologics, a
combination gene therapy developer and CDMO
startup in its second year of operation. Focus will be
placed on commercial operations, manufacturing,
and therapeutic research.
