- Abstract
- When mention about floor cleaning at home, it always comes with the trouble and complains. According to the article from ISSA, The future of floor care, (Kirkendall, 2019), more and more family have chosen the hard floor but without advanced and efficient cleaner. Throughout today's market, there is still a big gap between industrial cleaning systems and traditional manual cleaning methods for hard floor cleaning. In this project, a design concept for a domestic hard floor cleaning machine is described. A comprehensive study of domestic as well as industrial service machines was conducted to understand the technology involved in these machines. This paper discusses what kind of performance is needed by users. The outcome of this project is a design proposal for a hybrid cleaner for hard floors. This is capable of cleaning hard floors effectively with dry as well as wet cleaning methods This floor cleaning machine is economically priced, environmentally friendly and easy to handle. This design was developed from the water circulation system cleaning technology to be able of picking up dust and wet scrubbing floors. The design process assumed that the design would be produced by the Dyson company but has been undertaken without support and commitment by the company, although the overall design and manufacture are consistent with Dysons brand language and manufacturing processes.
