Abstract
In the information society, information differentiation widely exists in various social communities, including children. Guaranteeing the information rights of rural children is of great significance in ensuring the development of children. We conducted a field study in East China county and used text analysis to code, describe and analyze the 28 interviews. It finds the similarities and differences in the information environment, information activities, and information literacy of rural children. It finds that children raised by grandparents are at a disadvantage in information differentiation and summarizes these children's characteristics. Then a mechanical model was constructed to explain the transmission path of the parenting patterns to information differentiation and put forward strategies for disadvantaged children in Information Differentiation.
