Abstract
Social Networking Sites (SNS) can raise social capital, provide means of entertainment, and can motivate individuals for personal information disclosure. This study aims to investigate the information privacy concerns of SNS users, particularly Facebook users by using “Antecedents-Privacy Concerns-Outcomes” (APCO) macro model with Social Capital Theory (STC). In pilot testing data were collected from undergraduate students enrolled in top ten universities of Lahore, Pakistan. Quantitative research approach with survey method questionnaire was employed to collect the data from the participants, which resulted n=80. The findings of pilot study revealed that the majority of respondents reported having friends between 1-100. The highest frequency of social network intensity remained several times a day. Although most respondents 'Strongly disagree' in response to the privacy policy statement awareness, but knew how to alter or ensure privacy settings. Most of the participants showed concerns as they selected "agree" or "strongly agree" in reaction to information privacy concerns. The respondents preferred "strongly disagree" in the privacy management response since they didn't delete friends, block people, publish false information etc.
