Abstract
Having taught HUM 103 for a few years, I decided to restructure the course to give more attention to Japan and Korea. I used to teach the course by country where I spent eight weeks on Chinese culture, four weeks on Japanese, and four weeks on Korean cultures. I also did not have access to videos, documentaries, or newer academic publications on East Asian cultures. To provide more updated reading materials, original documentaries, and to lay an equal emphasis on these cultures, I redesigned the course syllabus. The current course calendar is set up by themes, where all three countries will be explored each week. Newer materials and more videos are also incorporated.
