Abstract
Water hyacinth is an invasive, free-floating perennial aquatic plant from South America that has become prolific throughout the southern United States and many countries worldwide. Water hyacinth forms dense, free-floating or rooted aggregations of plants, typically called beds, and is capable of vegetative reproduction as well as producing up to 6,000 seeds per flower.
