A schematic representation of solution-state aggregates of a semiconducting polymeric molecule (PII-2T) dissolved in an organic solvent (chloronaphthalene). The polymer chains adopt a disordered conformation and are loosely bonded to each other forming an amorphous phase. This endows polymers with a high alignment capability during coating to form highly ordered crystalline domain. By printing this aggregated polymer solution using meniscus-guided coating method, one can obtain a high-performance active layer in organic field effect transistors.
