Abstract

When immersing in my research, I may focus on my main questions and look for the novelty to solve swine fertility issues. I might concentrate intensely on specific details, finding and improving three extra ovarian follicles able to ovulate and producing three more piglets in a group of sows treated with when comparing treatment A and B. I find myself navigating between collecting data in the farms and performing analysis in the laboratory. Perhaps, sometimes distancing from paying attention to other details that may not be included in the materials and methods of a manuscript, but is part of the research trajectory: Love! Love for what we are doing, love around us on details that perhaps no one sees. Still, in a couple of minutes, I may decide to take a break from a series of ultrasound scannings and, through a simple click on the camera, I may capture a particular moment. Research can be about questions, answers, and discovery. It can encompass hours, months, and years of dedication, scratching heads, P-values, ‘no’ or ‘yes’ as a response, many times, a non-expected answer “et al. 2022”. But no matter what, it will always involve love.
