Abstract

"We have come a long way since the days of slavery to redlining when white homeowners are ready to bribe Black folks from moving into white neighborhoods, as depicted in ""The Raisin in the Sun"" by Lorraine Hansberry. Walking down the suburbs and seeing these posts lined up, irrespective of those who dwell within the walls, gives me hope that victory is sooner than we think, that love will triumph over hate. When Black parents don't have to live in fear that their sons may never return home. My work focuses on racial and social injustice, performance activism, and advocacy. The Lawns of Hope is a performative imagery that contributes to the narratives on race, empowerment, shelter, equality, diversity, inclusion, and togetherness."
