Abstract
The entry of microplastics from various activities into the wastewater and their removal efficiency pose great challenges for conventional wastewater treatment. This work mainly focuses on the Indian scenario, where the lack of awareness about microplastics among the people, and their exposure pathways in the ecosystem has seemed to be complex. The need for concern about the mitigation practices and pollution prevention opportunities, through the life cycle assessment, stringent policy implementation requirements are highlighted.
