Abstract
Analysis and results are presented for a model of a turbulent boundary layer flow over a moving wavy wall which varies both in time and space. Weakly nonlinear approach and direct resonance theory are used to determine the leading order solution for the induced mean flow due to the small amplitude waves superimposed on the mean and fluctuating components of turbulence. It is found that near wall streamwise vortices can be originated and be controlled by the moving wavy wall. In addition, mean
turbulent flow includes a secondary component which is generated by the moving wavy wall. The spanwise wavelength of the detected counter-rotating longitudinal vortices is found to be half that due to the wavy wall for sufficiently large time.
