Abstract
An algebraic equation and a nomograph are presented in this paper for the prediction of compressive strength of concrete from its sonic properties. The magnitudes of the sonic properties were found to depend not only on the age and curing of the specimen but also on the size of the specimen. An empirical method is presented to convert sonic properties of concrete specimen of any size to those expected of a standard 6 in. by 12 in. cylinder.
