Abstract
Instability modes that satisfy the triad resonance conditions in three-dimensional compressible (subsonic) boundary layer flow over a swept wing are investigated using theoretical and computational methods. Detuning paramters are used for the wave numbers and frequencies for the triad resonance conditions in space and time. Different resonant triads comprised of crossflow and Tollmien-Schlichting modes are investigated for both the incompressible and compressible cases. The effects of compressibility on various flow features, instability modes, and wave interactions are determined.
