Abstract
Six new wheels , supplied by the Chicago Plant of the Griffin Wheel Company were tested at the University. Two of them were used in determining the residual stresses in the wheels as manufactured and the remaining four were used to determine the susceptibility of the wheels to thermal damage caused by brake applications.
