Abstract
The finite element displacement method is used to determine the state of stress and deformation in a linear elastic solid of revolution subject to thermal and mechanical loadings. These particular forms of loading, herein referred to as Axisymmetric, Harmonic and Sector, are considered and the governing relations for each are illustrated with a series of systematically refined triangular elements.
