Abstract
The system consists of a machine coupled to its frame through a viscous damper and a linear spring. The frame is in turn coupled to the foundation through a viscous damper and a linear spring. The system is confined to translational motion in the vertical plane.
Excitations enter the system through rotating eccentric masses attached to the machine and through vertical sinusoidal displacement of the foundation.
Response of the system to the dual excitations at distinct frequencies is presented as dimensionless absolute displacement, velocity, acceleration and force transmissibility ratios.
