Abstract
A two degree of freedom, two mass system is considered. The coupling between one mass and the base and between the two masses consists of a spring and a damper.
The system consists of an isolated body with a rotating eccentric mass excitation. The body is coupled to a supporting mass which is in turn coupled to a base. The base is capable of being independently excited.
The dynamic response of two degree of freedom systems in terms of displacement amplitude and in terms of phase angle as functions of input excitation is considered.
