Abstract
This report is primarily concerned with steady state conditions of a single degree of freedom study of vibration isolation systems with nonlinear characteristics and covers the period from June 16, 1959, to July, 1960.
The data presented enable one to achieve synthesis of a single degree of freedom system having nonlinear spring and nonlinear damper characteristic, under steady state vibration in various acceleration fields.
Synthesis for the transient vibration condition was not achieved and the results for this condition remain to be obtained either by graphical phase plane techniques or by use of analog and digital computing equipment.
The graphical procedure using the phase plane approach has been materially advanced by a rapid method for the incorporation of the time scale on the phase plane diagram.
