Abstract
The initial phases of this contract examined some very elementary models of launching systems.
In this report an attempt has been made to incorporate all of the significant features of present and proposed launching systems. The only real limitation here is the assumption that the missile is launched from a straight rail mechanism. Future reports will contain an analysis of systems in which the rail is of helical type.
An outline of the analysis is contained within the body of this report along with a description of the code which has been written to solve the equations on the Illiac. Some typical numerical results are also presented.
