Abstract
Champaign County is the 10th most populous counties in Illinois and has been experiencing an increase in the total number of people with housing insecurities, especially homelessness. This story map studies the relationship between race, job insecurities, and housing problems. It is done using two major data sources to gain a more comprehensive picture of the current state of housing insecurities in Champaign County: 1) data analysis on available secondary data, and 2) collection of lived experiences from residents in the county who have previously dealt with housing insecurities or are currently dealing with them. The story map will then introduce an organization that is providing lowest-income residents of the county with different social services and then will suggest a possible synthesis on what is the best approach to housing instability at a local level.
