- Abstract
- COVID-19 is having a significant impact across all transportation sectors. Organizations are under pressure to keep a core transportation system operational with a skeleton workforce by ensuring freight and key essential workers can continue moving. This shift has affected the revenue streams of many transport operators, causing them to experience an unexpected shortfall in their finances. This project aims to understand the impacts of the unprecedented pandemic on the local transportation sector and devise strategies to adapt to the following conditions: - Transportation organizations should maintain the ability of their networks to function even during lockdown measures, striking a balance between reducing operations and providing enough capacity for essential workers - Long-term investment programs may need to be re-planned and re-prioritized - Once lockdowns are lifted, commute patterns may not return to pre-COVID-19 levels
