The short term future of renewable energy received a makeover during 2008. Volatile markets made corn ethanol a risky business, the public’s attitude toward it changed for the worse, we elected a new administration which proclaims a strong commitment to renewable energy, and profitable local markets are beginning to emerge for biomass. These things will no doubt be affected by the recession and stimulus package number two, but only time will tell in what way.
