Abstract
Christmas 2020, my wife, Mary Ruth (to me, “Dosie”) and I (to her, “Willy”), celebrated our 70th Christmas together. Mary Ruth was in a nursing home, bed fast, unable to see, and with advanced dementia. She did, however, recognize me and our two daughters and was able to recall many of the events of our lives. Because there really was no tangible gift that I could give her, for Christmas a present, I wrote her a story, reminiscing our 70 Christmases together. I read the story to her several times Christmas day. She enjoyed the “trip down memory lane”, commenting on the events in the story. This is her 70th Christmas present.
