Program Note by Composer:
Your breath was shed was a poem by Dylan Thomas, a Welsh poet. It symbolizes a breath that could be seen as the last breath. The reason I chose this poem is that I wanted a transformative sounding poem. The poem has a lot of good vowel sounds as well to accompany music. Another reason I chose this poem is because I was named after Bob Dylan, who named himself after Dylan Thomas, so I’ve always felt a deep connection to the poet.
