Abstract
In this paper, we will express the concerns and feelings of current and future educators and their experience (lack of experience) with students of color. We will work through these perspectives using a critical race lens where ideas based in race will be brought to the forefront as work unpack the word “urban”. Finally, we will propose solutions educators and teacher candidates can implement.
