Abstract
Results of geologic and geochemical studies of the New Albany Group in Illinois are presented. Information is included on the lithology, stratigraphy, and structure of the New Albany Group. Work directed at characterizing the mineralogic and petrographic properties of this Group is summarized along with results of studies on the physical properties of black shales and studies of elements in Eastern U.S. shales.
